Spoilers! Is Katherine the one dancing with Stefan in the next TVD episode?

After watching the last episode of The Vampire Diaries “American Gothic” and the promo for the next episode “Pictures of you” you must notice the fact that while dancing with Stefan, Elena is wearing a bracelet similar to the bracelet Katherine wears.






We can hear Bonnie in the promo saying “Elena’s Gone” and there are rumors Katherine will show up in the prom episode. Julie Plec stated in various interviews that Elena will not use sex to manipulate like Katherine does. From what we can see in the promo – if that really is Elena dancing and flirting with Stefan than she has become same as Katherine…or that is actually Katherine in the promo!

What do you think? Is Katherine trespassing the prom and acting as she is Elena? Why would she do that after giving the cure to Elijah? Does she have a back up plan? Or maybe the bracelets are just a coincidence and Elena is just playing the brothers in a “Katherine Pierce” way?
