The Vampire Diaries 4x20 The Originals - Promotional Photos First Look [VIDEO]

How to Get Elena’s Pink Highlights

We have all grown accustomed to Elena’s sleek, pin straight, brown hair throughout the four seasons of The Vampire Diaries. However, the great team over at TVD decided it is time for Elena to change her look. At least for a little while.

In the March 21st episode of TVD, Elena sports a hot pink streak in her new, wavy hair. Her hair is the complete opposite of her typical straight hair. Now, Elena has a side part accentuated with a pink streak and soft, pretty curls.

If you want to achieve this look, it’s really easy. Maybe you don’t have the brown hair that Nina Dobrev has, but don’t worry. Nina’s hair was completely transformed for this episode with the help of simple brown highlights and the pink streak.

For the pink streak, we recommend starting off by dying a hair extension magenta rather than jumping straight into a hair dye. This way if the streak looks terrible in your hair or you feel like trying a different look from time to time, you can simply remove the extension instead another dye job that could damage your hair.

If you’re feeling bold and want to completely imitate Elena’s look, start by creating lighter brown highlights in desired spots of your hair. Once finished, pick a strip of hair and dye it the your favorite perfect hue of pink. Elena may only have one streak of pink in her hair, but that doesn’t mean you can’t go beyond that. Go crazy adding streaks of pink all over. Your hair is your cheapest accessory and experimenting with it can be fun and can totally change your look. Just remember to always give your hair the proper care. For the color treatment, be sure to use color specific shampoo and conditioner.

Another trend in hair color is hair chalking. The technique is fairly simple. Using your favorite color of chalk or pastel, simply color small sections of your hair and brush the dust out. The Beauty Department shows you the best tips for adding highlights with chalk or pastels.

The Vampire Diaries 4x19 EXTENDED PROMO!!

The Vampire Diaries Spin-Off: Daniel Gillies Wants the Originals To...

Elijah Returns in Vampire Diaries Season 4, Episode 18, “American Gothic”

One thousand years is a long time, and the Originals lived through it all. Some of them were locked in coffins for portions of it, but still. The Vampire Diaries spin-off has lots of potential, which excites one family member.

Daniel Gillies (Elijah) tells Entertainment Tonight that he likes that he and his vampire siblings — Klaus (Joseph Morgan) and Rebekah (Claire Holt) — can traipse through time like Carmen Sandiego.

“The advantage the show carries is that, because Klaus, Rebekah and Elijah have been alive for a millennium, we can bounce all over time,” says Daniel.

And he has some ideas of eras when he’d love to see the Originals. “Because they're invulnerable, it makes everything kind of fun — if people are falling in the streets because of the Bubonic Plague, it's

How will The Originals affect The Vampire Diaries?

originals-600

It’s getting closer and closer to April 25th, when The Vampire Diaries backdoor pilot for The Originals airs on the CW. So what does The Originals spin-off mean for our favorite show The Vampire Diaries?

The main effect of The Originals spin-off is that we’ll have two fantastic shows and two amazing sets of vampires to drool over each week, and for the characters to make cross-over appearances on! Currently Klaus (Joseph Morgan), Rebekah (Claire Holt), Elijah (Daniel Gillies), and Hayley (Phoebe Tonkin), share just the one hour of The Vampire Diaries with Stefan (Paul Wesley), Damon (Ian Somerhalder), and Elena (Nina Dobrev).

Once The Originals graces our TVs we’ll have a two-hour vampire feast every week, and so will they!!! And we’ll no doubt see some amazing scenes of New Orleans, too. With two hours of vampire madness and mayhem it will be like a movie each week, but with bathroom breaks! Of course, this is assuming that The Originals will  air right after The Vampire Diaries!

Since The Originals pilot will be an episode of The Vampire Diaries, it will be like an hour-long sneak peek of what the series will be like when The CW network adds it to their fall lineup for next season!

‘The Vampire Diaries’ season 4 spoilers: Nina Dobrev, Claire Holt square off

Nina Dobrev

If there were two characters on “The Vampire Diaries” that we were hoping would have some interaction someday, it was Nina Dobrev’s Katherine (nope, not Elena!) and Claire Holt’s Rebekah. They are two of the oldest female vampires we’ve met, and both of them have a very noticeable mean streak. While Katherine has always been a bit of a ruthless survivalist, Rebekah is in some ways a little more complex: while she puts on airs of acting rather tough and difficult to deal with, you have this constant feeling under the surface that more than anything, all she wants is to be loved.

Ultimately, you really get a major sense of that in the sneak peek below (which was first posted by TVLine), as Rebekah is really set off after Katherine questions why exactly she wants the vampire cure so badly. Does she really want to be mortal, or does she just want to get a chance to start over with her life. The only thing more interesting than this accusation is the idea that Katherine has glamoured a whole town into liking her, just so that she does suddenly have a place in the world.

Just when things are starting to get violent between these two, the reinforcements stop by top put a stop to the madness. Of course, we’re talking here specifically about none other than the Salvatore brothers, who have managed to hunt them down despite Elena screwing them over and leaving Damon stranded specifically in New York last week. As Katherine suggestions with her “there goes the neighborhood” line, things are about to get very interesting.

What do you think about the idea of watching these two “Vampire Diaries” characters battle it out?

Ian Somerhalder Says Paul Wesley Will Never Talk to Him Again After...

Ian Somerhalder and Paul Wesley in GQ Germany, October 2010

If you watched The Vampire Diaries Season 4, Episode 17, “Because the Night,” you saw Ian Somerhalder in guyliner when his character, Damon Salvatore, flashed back to the 1970s.
Unfortunately, Damon’s brother, Stefan, was nowhere to be seen in that decade. But Entertainment Weekly had Ian Somerhalder imagine what the younger Salvatore would’ve looked like. Using a cardboard cutout of Paul Wesley, Ian decked his on-screen sibling out in a ‘fro, moustache, Forever 21 leather jacket, and teal bell bottoms. He also added some hot pink padding to a certain area to make the effect more, ahem, 3-D.

“Paul’s a pretty macho guy,” Ian said of his co-star. “I think we should bring out more of his feminine side.” This included putting a necklace and sparkly purple butterfly on the cutout.

We have to say, Paul still looks pretty good, even with the creepy ‘stach. But Ian was worried. “Paul is probably never gonna talk to me again,” the actor predicted as he placed a purple hat on top of the wig.

Don’t underestimate the Polish hottie’s sense of humor, Ian! Paul tweeted out the video (which you can watch below), writing, “good one.”

Maybe one day Paul will get to return the favor and dress up Ian in ‘80s garb.

The Vampire Diaries Speculation: Is Caroline Helping or Hurting Klaus?

Caroline and Bloody Klaus in Vampire Diaries Season 4, Episode 18, “American Gothic”

Our jaws dropped when we saw the sneak peek photos for The Vampire Diaries Season 4, Episode 18, “American Gothic.” Not only was Elijah (Daniel Gillies) looking utterly dapper in his suit, Caroline (Candice Accola) was alone with a shirtless Klaus (Joseph Morgan).
We have no idea what’s going on, but we’re going to do some analysis of each photo and try to figure it out.
Photo 1: Caroline and the gardening too.

The last time we saw Klaus, he was getting the indestructible white oak stake broken off in his back by Silas/Shane (David Alpay). The tip was likely still lodged in there, so perhaps Caroline is being helpful by removing it?

Photo 2: Caroline looks concerned.

Caroline in Vampire Diaries Season 4, Episode 18, “American Gothic”

Vampire Barbie certainly seems worried about the guy she’s been chiding for killing his own hybrids. Maybe her own recent murder spree has given her a change of heart?

Photo 3: Caroline touches Klaus’s face.

So Caroline is clearly colluding with Klaus, and they get physically closer. Is this a prelude to a kiss?

The Originals Joseph Morgan talks about Revelation short

The Originals Joseph Morgan talks about Revelation movie

Joseph Morgan, Klaus Mikaelson on The Vampire Diaries and the upcoming The Originals, was interviewed recently on CBS in Atlanta about his 12-minute short film “Revelation” which debuted at The Atlanta Film Festival.

Joseph Morgan is a fan of horror, fantasy, Stephen King, and especially “The Walking Dead“!  His inspiration for writing was sparked when he was 15 and discovered the films of Quentin Tarantino. This  inspired him to write his first screenplay.

After graduating from the Central School of Speech and Drama in London, he continued to write and produce as his acting career found its way to “The Vampire Diaries” and now the lead in “The Originals.” “Revelation” is his directorial debut, which is a dark post-apocalyptic story of a woman who loses her grip on reality. Persia White, who was also on “The Vampire Diaries” stars in the short and helped out with writing and editing, but the directoring was all Joseph Morgan!

Vampire Diaries Season 4: Will Elena Ever Revert to Her Old Self?

A couple of game-changing things went on before The Vampire Diaries went on hiatus, not least of which was Elena finally flipping the switch and going full-on vamp. Now we’ve seen the fallout from that decision, and know that an Elena without feelings isn’t one you’d want around puppies and children. She’s really taken to this whole ‘evil undead monster’ shtick, and has even given Damon a run for his money in selfish and reckless behaviour.

But is this the end of old, whiny, moral Elena – the girl who would do anything for her friends but who couldn’t make a decision to save her life? I have to admit, it’s lovely to have a break from that girl, who was increasingly sucking the fun out of the show with her various crippling traumas, and have her replaced with this fun-loving carefree teenager we’re enjoying now. My hat comes off for Nina Dobrev, who has now made me believe in three completely separate characters, often at the same time.

But isn’t that part of the problem? We already have an evil Elena – Katherine. With the original object of the Salvatores’ affections hanging around in the background threatening a return, is there enough room for both girls to do their thing? It was always a joy to see Dobrev sweep around the place in her leather simply because Katherine was so vastly opposed to what Elena represented. Now that they’re on equal footing, if not quite the same person, how can we expect the two to react to each other?

This extends right down to their love lives, since Damon and Stefan’s attraction to Elena seemed to at least partially be about how different the two girls were. They loved Katherine but hated her repeated betrayals and evil nature so – particularly for Stefan – Elena was a second chance for them to create the perfect woman. She was put on a pedestal and, when she was turned into a vampire, Stefan was desperate to ‘save her’. He didn’t want an undead Elena, and so made her into a problem for him to fix.

Thus was born the ‘hunt for the cure’ storyline,

The Vampire Diaries: What Would Damon Do If He Took the Cure?

Damon Bleeds From the Nose in The Vampire Diaries Season 4, Episode 14: “Down the Rabbit Hole”

If there’s one vampire on all of The Vampire Diaries who would want to destroy the cure if he got his hands on it, it’s Damon (Ian Somerhalder). He’s made it perfectly clear he wants nothing to do with it and thinks all his friends are better off with their fangs. But what if, by some fluke, Mr. Salvatore actually ended up taking it?

That very query was posed to Ian Somerhalder by Entertainment Weekly. Surprisingly, he didn’t think Damon would be too upset. Rather, Ian thinks that after the initial shock wore off, Damon would get over it pretty quickly.

According to Ian, Damon would say, “‘Well, I’ve lived quite a while, I’m gonna grow old naturally and die. I could take the Salvatore fortune and donate half

Karma for all the necks he’s snapped? Just sayin’. Now he knows howAlaric (Matt Davis) felt.

You’d think Rebekah and Katherine would’ve run into each other before now, right?

0:23 — Damon declares a winner.
A Katherine/Elena showdown? We’re the winners.

The Vampire Diaries Speculation: Where is Katherine?

Katherine Is Miffed in Season 1, Episode 22: "Founder's Day"

After her fatal cure-snatch and run out on lonely island, The Vampire Diaries villain Katherine (Nina Dobrev) has hit the road and hasn’t been heard from since. She’s on the lam, she’s got the cure, and everyone wants a piece of her. Damon (Ian Somerhalder) and Rebekah (Claire Holt) are trying to track her down, Klaus (Joseph Morgan) is on the prowl, and no one has found her yet: Where is Katherine?

There’s a chance she’s coming after Hayley (Phoebe Tonkin). As Klaus told the wolf, “You were stupid enough to make a deal with Katerina Petrova to help her find the cure, now you’re a loose end.” Hayley and Katherine had been working together in New Orleans, so she could be headed that way, via a truck stop in the boonies, to try and wrap up that particular loose end. Since Klaus is one of the few people who is Katherine’s equal in the evil department, he’s probably got a decent idea how she works.

(And obviously by “working” we mean “manipulating and taking advantage of,” and by “wrap up” we mean “murder, probably in a horrible fashion.”)

Then again, Katherine likely wants to cram that cure down Klaus’s

‘Vampire Diaries’: Damon & Elena’s Search For Katherine Ends In Tragedy

Vampire Diaries Silas Massacre

Plus, Silas calls on Bonnie for his third massacre! Is there no stopping him?
Damon (Ian Somerhalder) and Elena (Nina Dobrev) took a bite out of the Big Apple on the March 21 episode of The Vampire Diaries, indulging in all the usual tourist activities: feeding on innocent New Yorkers, hunting down the cure for vampirism, and — for whatever reason — getting tacky pink highlights. Like, really tacky. But when they weren’t painting the town red, literally, Damon was regaling his girlfriend with tales from his days in 1970s New York — including his secret fling with Lexi (Arielle Kebbel)! I know, I was surprised too.

My surprise lessened, however, when we learned Damon was only faking his feelings for Lexi in order to get her off his back. Stefan (Paul Wesley) had sent her to NYC to fix Damon, which obviously didn’t sit too well with him. Suddenly, I totally understand why Damon eventually killed her.

Damon and Elena’s big-city trip took a delightfully twisted turn when Rebekah

Make a Positive Impression with Ian Somerhalder & Barefoot Wine

The Vampire Diaries Synopsis For Season 4, Episode 18: “American Gothic”

A small town in Pennsylvania? That’s the last place we’d think to look for Katherine (Nina Dobrev), but according to The Vampire Diaries synopsis for Season 4, Episode 18, “American Gothic,” that just might be where the fanged fatale is hiding out.

The last time we saw Kat, she was absconding with the single dose of the cure. Now Elena (Nina Dobrev) and Rebekah (Claire Holt) are hot on her trail — hence the trip to the Keystone State. Guess who else is a fan of Quakers, chocolate, and liberty? Elijah (Daniel Gillies)!

Now that we’re done doing our happy dance, we’ll tell you that the Original also just so happens to be in Pennsylvania. Intrigue! Maybe he and Katherine are holed up in the same bed and breakfast?

Stefan (Paul Wesley) and Damon (Ian Somerhalder) are both worried about Elena and her new emotionless state. She’s not exactly rolling out the welcome mat for their

The Vampire Diaries 4x18 Extended Promo!

The Vampire Diaries: What If Season 4 Was All a Dream in Elena's Mind?

While Season 4 of Vampire Diaries has had some great moments with Elena in her new vampire form (the "Rager" kegstand pops immediately to mind), this storyline has been filled with a lot of complications. Most especially with the sire bonding of Damon and Elena, and everyone trying to cure Elena of her vampirism. But what if all this losing Jeremy and her being compelled to be with Damon instead of Stefan was all really just a fantasy that Elena had concocted? What if Season 4 was all a dream and we found out that Elena was really in a coma since the end of last season? Hey, it worked all those years ago on Dallas. And we're pretty sure that most of the people who love this show were not around when that big twist happened.

How would it work exactly? Well, we've got some thoughts.
First, Stefan ignored Elena's request to save Matt first, and instead rescued her and Matt died. It breaks our heart as he's one of the few non-supernatural people left in town and just plain old adorable, but it's not like he gets a ton to do on this show. They'd have to find another way to stop Alaric, but it would have been fitting. And then this whole dream could've just been Elena's way of trying to deal with the loss of Matt, by pretending it didn't happen.

Or, Elena and Matt both lived,

The Vampire Diaries Spoilers: Does Damon Like the New Elena?

Elena (Nina Dobrev) is sure that Damon (Ian Somerhalder) prefers her without her humanity. “Be honest; you like me better like this,” she said to him in the last episode. But even if that’s true, he might change his mind in The Vampire Diaries Season 4, Episode 17, “Because the Night.”
In an interview with TV Guide, Ian Somerhalder said of Elena, “She kicks his ass. He gets another side — Damon gets another side of Elena that really solidifies that he’s not a fan of her current state.”

Yikes. First Elena tries to take out Caroline

The Vampire Diaries: What Would Rebekah Be Like If She Took the Cure?

Rebekah in The Vampire Diaries Season 4, Episode 14: “Down the Rabbit Hole”

It’s not clear whether Damon (Ian Somerhalder) talked Rebekah (Claire Holt) out of wanting the cure in The Vampire Diaries Season 4, Episode 16, “Bring It On,” but Claire Holt told Zap2It that it would be interesting to see a human side of her character.

"This whole hype has been, since we found out there was a cure, Rebekah has been destined to take it,” says Claire. “Who knows, if and when she gets the cure, if that happens,

The Vampire Diaries cast excited The Originals spin-off

Ian Somerhalder and Paul Wesley talk about The Originals spin-off

April 25th, the night that The Vampire Diaries will air the backdoor spin-off of The Originals, is just a few weeks away! I hope you’re as excited as I am to see the new cast members as they explore the exciting New Orleans, which our lovable Klaus helped build.

Everybody on The Vampire Diaries is excited about the new The Originals spin-off. Paul Wesley, who plays Stefan Salvatore, recently confided that The Originals will also mean big things for The Vampire Diaires, too.

Quote from Wetpaint Entertainment

The idea of these Originals leaving will create a reset button, and maybe we can get back to the roots of The Vampire Diaries and sort of just basic human emotions, as opposed to all of these mythological events that have been unfolding.

But Ian Somerhalder, who plays Damon Salvatore, was sorry he didn’t get a chance to film in New Orleans, too, since it’s his hometown.

The Vampire Diaries Sneak Peek For Season 4, Episode 17: Party in NYC

The Vampire Diaries Spoilers For Season 4, Episode 17: Damon’s Bloody Again

Ian Somerhalder Behind the Scenes of The Vampire Diaries Season 4, Episode 17

Ian Somerhalder must be pretty used to blood by now, because Damon Salvatore is always drenched in the stuff on The Vampire Diaries.
Case in point: A lucky fan tweeted this photo of the hemoglobin-covered hottie after shaking his hand on set. The cast was filming Season 4, Episode 17, "Because the Night" at Georgia State University, but it’s not clear exactly what happened to the elder Salvatore (or if his fangs happened to someone else).

Ian has been saying the newly emotionless Elena (Nina Dobrev) keeps beating up Damon. “If someone’s going to kick your ass,” he tells E! Online, “it might as well be Nina Dobrev.”

Maybe she’s to blame for all that blood?

The Vampire Diaries Spoilers: Elena Makes Out With...

Well, this is an interesting little Vampire Diaries spoiler from TVLine:

“Elena will do just about anything to find the cure, and that includes going to first base with [spoiler].”

First of all, Elena (Nina Dobrev) still wants the cure? That’s a surprise. We thought she was quite satisfied living in no-emotions land, feeding on cheerleaders and being bitchy to her friends.

Second of all, whom could she be kissing that is just too juicy to tell? She’s clearly making out with Damon (Ian Somerhalder) in the promo for Season 4, Episode 17, “Because the Night,” so that’s no surprise. Rebekah (Claire Holt) also shows up in NYC, so maybe there’s a little girl-on-girl action in Elena’s future.

However,

The Vampire Diaries Spoiler: Katherine and Klaus?

VD2090307b2--3923420698110530091

In today’s The Vampire Diaries spoiler news, we have discovered that an upcoming episode will not only feature Joseph Morgan’s character, Klaus, getting a love scene *gush* but that Nina Dobrev’s character, Katherine, will not be on the receiving end of that interaction. Instead, Katherine will be doing a little romancing of her own, since stealing the the cure from Elena, with Daniel Gillies’ character, Elijah. Apparently, the two will meet up and their formerly magnetic attraction will automatically rekindle itself. Sparks should fly! As we remember from The Vampire Diaries history, the two Originals brothers were both smitten with the mortal version of Katherine (or Lady Kat) back in 1491. I personally want to see Elijah use some of his old world charm and antiquated language on that mean, nasty lady vampire. Maybe she’ll soften up for a change….but probably not. I bet she will have something good to write about in her own The Vampire Diaries.

The Vampire Diaries’ Poll: Klaus and Hayley’s Sex Scene — Hot or Not?

It wouldn’t be The Vampire Diaries without some intraspecies hookups every now and again.

Klaus (Joseph Morgan) and Hayley (Phoebe Tonkin) have never been fans of each other. After all, she’s in love with Tyler (Michael Trevino), and the Original wants that particular hybrid dead. Klaus has sworn to hunt Ty to the ends of the earth, hence why Caroline (Candice Accola) won’t give him the time of day.

But Klaus and Hayley went from trading snipes to stripping down in no time flat. In Season 4, Episode 16, “Bring It On,” she was critiquing his art, while he was over-serving her wine.

When he told her she was free to go, Hayley said she could be persuaded to stay. When Klaus asked which it would be, she replied, “You like to be in

'The Vampire Diaries' Recap: What Happened to the Lovable Elena?

There was no redeeming quality in this Elena.

Bye Sire Bond

If one good thing came from this situation, it was the extinguishing of the sire bond between Damon and Elena. The problem though is that Damon used that bond to turn off her humanity and if he no longer can use it, will she ever find her humanity again?

It would be a shame for Elena to stay in this foreign state forever. With the cure still out there, perhaps that will be the only way to save the Elena that her friends and family loved. Perhaps over time, Elena will find her way back though.

Stefan was the ripper, until he wasn't any more. So, anything is possible. Next, we get to see Damon and Elena hit it up in New York City. A little fun, some action, and could we possibly see a reigniting of her love for him?

The Werewolf Quandary

Hayley was working with Katherine, but she's gone missing now. So, will Hayley work with Klaus? Their contrary relationships would make it an unlikely alliance, but at the same time they are willing to play each other.

If Hayley gets close to Klaus,

The Vampire Diaries Spoilers: Stefan and Rebekah?

The Vampire Diaries will always be known, first and foremost, not just for being about vampires and some werewolves, but also about who’s hooking up with who. Some have been predictable, like Elena and Damon. However, some have not been. This would include Candice Accola’s Caroline and Michael Trevino’s Tyler. Looking at them in the first season, the idea of them being together in The Vampire Diaries for anything besides a good fight scene, would have been ludicrous. A few years later, it does not seem so far-fetched.

Another such unconventional pairing was that of Clare Holt’s Rebekah and Paul Wesley’s Stefan. Their characters recently reignited the passion they once felt for each other over a century ago. This turned out to be a series highlight. One would think that we can expect many such love scenes from them in future installments.

However, the executive producer for The Vampire Diaries, Julie Plec, told Entertainment Weekly that that will not be the case.

“Well, as much as I know people love Stefan and Rebekah — and by all means so do we — her [recent] actions put a little bit of a hold on any future romantic dalliances between them,” says Julie.

This really is not much

Hayley and Klaus: How did we get here?

Hayley and Klaus: How did we get here?

Hayley was thrown out of the house by her adoptive parents when she transformed into a werewolf for the first time and tore the living room apart. Ever since then she has been looking for her real parents. Can you imagine what that was like? She probably didn’t understand what was happening to her, and then the only family she had known tosses her out.

After being thrown out of her house, she joined other werewolves which eventually led her to Tyler, who had become a hybrid and sired to Klaus. Then she helped Tyler unsire all of Klaus’ hybrids so they could kill Klaus.

When she told Klaus the plan he was

TVD: So There’s Delena, Stelena, Klaroline, Forwood . . . but was there a Dexi? {SPOILERS}

Since we know these are from a 1970s flashback, they make you wonder, don’t they? (Especially when every time I type “Because the Night” I get the stupid 1980s song lyric “because the night belongs to lovers” – listen to the 10,000 Maniacs version here – stuck in my head.)

Well, Ian has a few teases for us about what we might be in for next week, as we learn what exactly spooked Damon enough to kill someone who was (if you believe an old, faded picture) friends with once upon a time:

ETonline: That episode also features the return of Lexi, a character Damon shares a very tumultuous history with. What’s it like this time around?
Somerhalder: What’s cool about it is that you see how long and turbulent their history is. There are just so many different agendas and egos at play, but at the end of the day, both Lexi and Damon love Stefan, so to see them interacting throughout an episode where they’re not trying to kill each other or making derogatory jokes to one another the entire time is amazing. There was a real relationship there, so it was fun to explore.

Sounds like it will be fun to watch, as well!! LOVE me some Lexi!!! (But you guys already knew that!)

ETonline: I’d also imagine that this new layer to their relationship makes the fact he killed her more significant.
Somerhalder: Totally. I think if you go back to that episode after seeing next week’s, the look of betrayal on her face, the shock of it all, is recontextualized. Which I think is a great way to elaborate or, at times, strengthen or fix a storyline that maybe didn’t work as well. It’s an added bonus to the structure of how our show works.

Yeah, that’s probably the one thing I haven’t quite forgiven Damon for just yet . . . although it did serve a purpose.

So what do you think? Did Lexi and Damon have a thing?

'The Vampire Diaries': Ian Somerhalder talks Elena's sire bond, Jeremy's death, and Rebekah

"The Vampire Diaries" returns with new episodes on Thursday, March 14 -- but while you endure the final stretch of the mini spring hiatus, we've got a little face-time with Ian Somerhalder to tide you over. Zap2it visited the set of the show and, as you can see from the video below, we shot our interviews in Elena's bedroom, which has burned down in the fictional Mystic Falls world! Luckily, we had Ian on hand to get some final moments with Damon in the iconic set.

Of course, we had to ask Ian about his true opinion on Elena's sire bond, which has caused a lot of controversy with "Vampire Diaries" fans over the course of the season. "Sire bond schmire bond," Ian jokes. "Damon can't get any true anything.

The Vampire Diaries: What's next for Jeremy Gilbert?

Will He Return To The Show?

Jeremy has died for real, paving the way for Elena to turn off her emotions without a reason to look back. That hasn't stopped fans from missing him — especially when things between he and Bonnie were just getting good.

The Vampire Diaries

Still haven't recovered from Jeremy Gilbert's death on The Vampire Diaries? You aren't alone.

With the death of little brother Jeremy (Steven R. McQueen), a lot of Vampire Diaries' fans aren't sure where they're going to get their weekly fix of barely legal swoons. Not that the show is lacking in the eye candy department... But the little brother was just getting all grown up.

No word yet on what's next for The CW heartthrob.

Fans of the show know by now,

The Vampire Diaries Recap: Stefan vs. Damon, Round Seven: On Wednesdays, We Wear Pink

Hey, everyone. Did you guys have a nice vacation? Did you bake a lot of pies and go outside and stuff? Good, because The Vampire Diaries is back, and it means business. Last night’s episode was fun and actually a welcome reprieve from the emotional torment we’ve suffered over the last few months. Elena’s off switch turned her into a full-on mean girl, the sire bond may have been broken (whatever), and, most important, STEFAN SMILED.

To the debate!

It’s Stefan’s Party, and He’ll Dance If He Wants To
Remember how Stefan gets Caroline points?

The Vampire Diaries returns to its roots while Elena tries on a new personality. Here's Caroline's review of Bring It On...

4.16 Bring It On

So, switched-off Elena is awesome. When we last saw the Mystic Falls crew they were in a considerably bad way, with Elena so distraught over Jeremy’s death that Damon though it appropriate to turn off all her feelings. No longer caring what happened to her previous, human life, she burned down the Gilbert house with her brother’s body still inside, and now we’re left with a new, improved, and considerably more bad-ass version of our heroine.

Having your main character turn into a violent sociopath is a ballsy move, even for The Vampire Diaries, but now we can at least say that they fully committed to turning Elena into one of the undead. She may have been a vampire for sixteen weeks, but that was just the transitionary phase between whiny, indecisive Elena and the reckless party girl we saw here. It’s loads of fun, first and foremost, and leaves the show at a bit of a crossroads. The tone is considerably lighter, also – not surprising when the previous episode had most of us crumpled in the corner crying our eyes out.

The opening scene was particularly awesome, with Elena adopting Damon’s favourite party trick of lying in the road until someone tasty pulls up. It’s hilarious that this is her go-to move after being such a moral stick-in-the-mud for so long, and it’s really quite refreshing to see Nina Dobrev let loose with the character like this. Hats off to her, she’s now played three completely different personalities on the show, and I’m intrigued as to what would happen if this new Elena met up with Katherine. As the latter still has the cure they’re all after, the odds are we’ll get to see that meeting before season four is done.

In many ways, this episode went back to the show’s roots, which were admittedly of dubious quality. Early on, The Vampire Diaries wanted to be a supernatural high school drama à la Buffy, and now we have a whole hour of cheerleading practice, b*tch fights and keggers to enjoy. Remember when Elena and Caroline were rivals for popularity? Well, despite all they’ve gone through since then, that resentment is back, and Elena’s still winning. I’d think, after being the stronger, luckier one for three seasons, Caroline’s a bit miffed about Elena trying to take her spot back in the high school world. When was the last time she even went to class?

Having a character like this offers the show a chance to speak a few home truths to certain characters, and no one gets this more than Caroline. She’s still pining after Tyler, speaking to his voicemail and updating him on life in Mystic Falls, but the letter he sends her at the end of the episode suggests that the character is gone for good. Her face when she can’t get into the Lockwood house is really quite sad, and it’s revealed that Tyler has left the house to Matt. I was wondering where he was living, to be honest, and I guess now he can provide the meeting place for exposition sessions. This is actually a genius idea, as it keeps him involved.

Meanwhile, Klaus and a returning Hayley are doing their best to create reasons for their approaching back-door pilot, as they head to New Orleans after some steamy bedroom action. I can’t say there was anything especially compelling about their exchanges – unlike with Klaus and Caroline – and it makes me a little concerned about how their dynamic will work when they have their own canvas to paint on. I wasn’t expecting them to sleep together, either, as this removes any ‘will they, won’t they’ undertones that have made the Klaroline pairing so popular with fans.

But, before New Orleans, we’re going to have a New York episode, as Damon and Elena head off to the Big Apple for some much needed excitement. As predicted by some, the sire bond has now broken, and this looks like a good way for the writers to weasel out of their mistake once they decide to switch Elena’s feelings back on. She obeyed him before, she doesn’t now, and she won’t when she returns to normal – it doesn’t make any sense, but we’ll take whatever we can get. At least it injects some fun back into the couple, as this is the version of Elena that Damon has always secretly wanted. New York should be interesting.

ELENA'S GOT A HIDDEN AGENDA IN NEW YORK

With pink hair and a sassy new attitude, Elena is poised to fit right in in the Big Apple. But with a secret scheme and no inhibitions, she's planning on doing more than partying.

If we got anything from last week's episode of The Vampire Diaries, it's that Elena (Nina Dobrev) is a loose cannon now that she's turned off her emotions.

Putting her in New York City is just asking for trouble. But Damon's got this thing with reliving his partying days in the 1970s and thinks Elena could use some time away. Maybe not a good idea for the citizens of New York.

But perhaps it's a good idea for Damon (Ian Somerhalder). From the looks of the promo, he'll be getting some rooftop action.

Will Jeremy Gilbert return to the show, or is he dead for good? >>

Review: ‘The Vampire Diaries’: Runnin’ with the devil

It’s amazing what a three week hiatus can do to a girl. I’d momentarily buried all my Jeremy feelings in the box marked “Julie Plec is a Life Ruiner” for safe keeping. But tonight they came rushing back with the first new episode of ‘The Vampire Diaries’ since Elena burnt the Gilbert house (and supposedly Jeremy’s body*) to the ground.

And though the episode didn’t do much to advance the main plot – Silas and the cure (dibs on the new band name) – it did provide us with a window into the state of Elena’s psyche since she turned off all of her emotions at Damon’s behest. And I have to say, I think I kind of like this Elena. This take no prisoners version of Elena is, in short, the Elena we’ve always wanted her to be, albeit an extreme version.

If I had my way, Elena would be a balanced version of the whiny, compassionate Elena and the fierce, trying to kill her best friend Elena. And while

THE VAMPIRE DIARIES BEHIND THE SCENES: With Nina Dobrev and Candice Accola... (VIDEO)

Nina Dobrev Says Her Mom Critiques Her Sex Scenes on Vampire Diaries

Are you this close with your mom? When Nina Dobrev (Elena Gilbert) appeared on Conan O’Brien’s show on March 12, she explained that her mother will sometimes visit her on the set of The Vampire Diaries — and that can be uncomfortable when she’s shooting certain scenes.

“The awkwardness and the weirdness is when my mom comes to set and I have to film like a sex scene or something,” Nina explains. “But what’s even weirder is when I come off set, and she starts giving me notes.”

Conan found that creepy — but he definitely wanted specifics. “Arch your back more, it looks sexier if you arch your back,” Nina says, giving an example of her mother’s suggestions.

Of course, any time Nina’s mother visits sets, there’s a good chance her daughter will be doing a sexy scene. Between her dual roles of Elena and Katherine, Nina’s gotten to make out quite a bit.

“I’m pretty sure I’ve made out with every guy on the show — as my character, of course,” joked Nina.

Um, we can think of at least one guy we haven’t seen her kiss: Steven R. McQueen, who played Elena’s brother, Jeremy Gilbert. That’s one liplock we don’t want to see!

The Vampire Diaries’ Spin-Off The Originals Films in New Orleans

It’s Ramos Gin Fizz and gumbo time! The Vampire Diaries spin-off, The Originals, has begun filming; this week, the cast headed to New Orleans to give the show an authentic flare.

The episode won’t air until April 25, but the actors and crew have been tweeting their excitement. “New Orleans Bound with this babe @MissClaireHolt,” wrote Phoebe Tonkin of her bestie and castmate Claire Holt. The ladies will reprise their roles as Hayley and Rebekah, respectively, on the new supernatural show.

Newcomer Charles Michael Davis, who will play Klaus’s (Joseph Morgan) erstwhile protégé, Marcel, has also taken to Twitter to share photos of the city. Filming for the show began last week in Atlanta, and Joseph gave his new co-star a ringing endorsement, tweeting, “When 'The Originals' pilot hits TVs on April 25th you're all gonna go crazy and hit your follow buttons for this man @CharlesMD. Trust me ;).”

The pilot will take place in New Orleans — both present day and when the Originals first lived there a century ago. Daniel Gillies (Elijah) tells Entertainment Weekly, “It will be about both the contemporary [story] — where we are now and what we are up to — and also will flash back to show what the f**k happened to us to bring us to this moment.”

We can’t wait to see the vampire siblings — and their friends and enemies — take over the Big Easy.
