Does Ian Somerhalder Wear Eyeliner?

We can’t be sure, but our best guess is yes. Have you seen those smoldering looks he gives Elena as Damon on TVD? We have a sneaking suspicion Ian is no stranger to guyliner... but only on the small screen.

What Does Ian Somerhalder Look For in a Girl?

In his interview for People’s 2010 Sexiest Man issue, Ian detailed what he finds “sexiest” in another person. “You know, there’s a funny thing: I always call it ‘warm intellect,’” he explained. “You have people who are unbelievably intellectual, however they’re really cold. And then you have those people who are just sort of really warmly intellectual — people who are approachable but are just so intellectually stimulating. I find that very sexy.”

We have to assume his TVD co-star/off-screen girlfriend Nina Dobrev (Elena) possesses that magnetic quality. Back in September 2011, Ian gushed to Us Weekly, “[Nina] truly enjoys life. Her desire to experience and appreciate everything around her, and chuckle and enjoy it, is great.”

Excuse us as we go develop our “warm intellect” and zest for life. Nina, you’ve got competition coming!

Why Is Ian Somerhalder So Hot?

Is he, though?

OK, OK, we kid. As a former male model, Ian is smokin’ hot. But why? Well, the guy obviously has some amazing genes, and he plays up his natural smolder with sexy grins and flirty eyebrow raises. Swoon.

Simply put, he just is

Is Ian Somerhalder a Virgin?

Is this the face of a virgin? We think not. Ian is 32, he’s super hot, and he’s dating his gorgeous co-star. If he’s never had sex, color us extremely shocked. Like, we’d start to believe that maybe vampires and werewolves actually exist.

The Vampire Diaries Spoilers: It’s Prom Time!

While our prom had corsages, floor-length gowns we never wore again, and over-served minors vomiting in limos, it was still lacking something: vampires. The Mystic Falls crew won’t have that problem in an upcoming episode of The Vampire Diaries!

Back in September 2012, Nina Dobrev (Elena Gilbert) told Entertainment Weekly that she’d love to do a prom episode. According to a new casting call from Cherrix Casting’s Facebook page, her wish is coming true.
Vampire Diaries is looking for extras to work our prom scene in Decatur, Ga. Wed Feb 26th, Thurs 27th, Fri 28th, and Mon Mar 4th,” the call reads. Based on our calculations, Season 4, Episode 19 should be filming around that time. It won’t air until mid-April, though — just in time for real-life proms.

Question: Will it be tacky to wear a tiara while we watch the episode?

'Vampire Diaries' spoilers: Julie Plec teases Elena's new attitude

The Vampire Diaries" is currently airing on Channel 6 in Tempe. On Thursday, March 7,Spoilers Guide shared new comments made by Julie Plec about Elena's new look on the series. Zimbio also shared new photos of the new Elena Gilbert, who is played by Nina Dobrev. Elena Gilbert is going through some big changes in upcoming episodes of this CW series, and Nina Dobrev is along for the ride. The actress is seeing a whole new wardrobe and look for her character, according to Julie Plec. All her old clothes are in storage now. Plec revealed the following about the changes fans will see in Elena:
"She had a very, very, very specific and safe style for the first three seasons, and this year, we evolved it a little bit when she became a vampire and had a little more freedom in her choices. But now we literally packed up all her clothes and put them into storage and bought her a new wardrobe. It’s just a little hipper, a little more contemporary — more skirts and belts and accessories, and she gets a great new haircut in two episodes and has a little fun with hair color. It’s been really fun to give her a new attitude."
The new attitude is a result of her humanity being turned off. Fans will even see Elena battle Caroline when the series returns with new episodes. Fans are buzzing about this series on social media.

Vampire Diaries Spoilers For Season 4: Will Bonnie Lose Control?

It’s something we’ve been wondering about since before the start of The Vampire Diaries Season 4: Is Bonnie (Kat Graham) going to go bad?

There have been hints ever since the summer that Bon-Bon might get in deep with the dark stuff — what Professor Shane (David Alpay) calls Expression. Kat Graham teased E! Online recently by saying, "I can tell you that Bonnie is going to take a different turn and is going to make some choices that are going to affect the rest of the characters. It's really, really huge.”

Maybe that means going to the dark side, destroying the cure, or battling with Silas. If she does have to tangle with that ancient witch, could she survive such a magical duel?

'Vampire Diaries' Season 4 Spoilers: New Details On Search For Katherine Revealed

The official synopsis for CW's Vampire Diaries season 4, episode 18 has now been released, as it is set to feature Elena (Nina Dobrev) and Rebekah (Claire Holt) on the lookout for wicked Katherine. The future installment is titled American Gothic.
According to the CW network, both Elena and Rebekah are said to go off on a search for Katherine. In the process, they will find themselves in a small Pennsylvania town, where Elena has a shocking encounter with another one of her old acquaintances, Elijah (played by guest star Daniel Gillies).
This will be a cause of concern for Damon (Ian Somerhalder) and Stefan (Paul Wesley), who are worried about Elena's state of mind.
Nonetheless, they are motivated to do whatever is best for her, but she makes it very clear from the beginning that helping her out will indeed be difficult.
Damon will be uncertain how to react when Stefan reveals to him his unexpected plan for the future.
Meanwhile, back in Mystic Falls, Klaus will reluctantly receive assistance from Caroline, but in the process, he will come to a new understanding in terms of Silas' powers.
Kellie Cyrus was the director of the highly anticipated episode which was written by Evan Bleiwiess and Jose Molina.
The Vampire Diaries is set to air its next episode, which is titled Bring It On, at 8 p.m. EST on Thursday, March 14.
It will feature the Salvatore brothers trying to find a way to handle Elena's situation. They end up sending her back to high school with the hope that she'll be able to return to normalcy following the death of Jeremy. However, the normal routine seems to add more chaos when Elena rejoins the cheerleading squad and ends up literally eating the competition.
An extended preview of the respective episode can be watched below.

Ian Somerhalder: Damon Isn’t Headed For The Vampire Diaries Spin-Off

The Vampire Diariesnew spin-off The Originals will air its pilot on April 25, which means the cast is gearing up to film. But not everyone gets to be a part of it.

As Ian Somerhalder(Damon Salvatore) told MTV’s 10 on Top, “They’re shooting in New Orleans, and I’m from New Orleans, and I’m the only actor not going down there to shoot. I mean, what’s that?”

Mock outrage aside, the show is shaping up to be a can’t-miss event. “It’s something that’s been in the works a really long time now,” Claire Holt(Rebekah) explains. The Original sister will join Joseph Morgan (Klaus),Daniel Gillies (Elijah), and Phoebe Tonkin (Hayley), as well as a slew of newcomers, on the spin-off.

We couldn’t help but wonder whether Caroline will make a surprise appearance on the new show. After all, according to her Twitter, Candice Accola was hanging out in New Orleans over the weekend. But who knows if she was there for pleasure — or business?

Regardless, Paul Wesley (Stefan Salvatore) pointed out that the spin-off equals big things for TVD, as well.

“The idea of these Originals leaving will create a reset button, and maybe we can get back to the roots of Vampire Diaries and sort of just basic human emotions, as opposed to all of these mythological events that have been unfolding,” said Paul.

New 'The Vampire Diaries' spoilers tease a big girl fight for Elena

"The Vampire Diaries" is currently airing on Channel 6 in Tempe. On Tuesday, March 5, TV Guide shared new spoilers for the series. Check out the previously released photos for the next two episodes by visiting this link. If you missed any of the previously released photos or spoilers for this series, check out the related topics link for season four on the sidebar for more news.
Elena is changing. Her changes have been teased since the end of the last episode, and here is another sign of that change. She will get into a huge physical fight with one of her closest friends. TV Guide shared the following about the big fight:

"The new and maybe not so improved Elena is going to be one feisty vampire. Not only will she taunt both Salvatores with her nakedness (sounds a little Katherine-esque, right?), but she'll get in a major fight with her BFF Caroline. And we're not talking a war of the words, but an all-out physical brawl. Who do you think wins?"
Caroline and Elena have had their issues this season. Caroline has been Team Stefan since Elena and him broke up, but this new information shows just how distant the friends have become. It also shows that Elena's humanity is truly off. She isn't the type to go fighting people with her humanity in tact.
Fans are buzzing about this series on social media. One fan said the following on Twitter recently:

@ninadobrev You are amazing. Beautiful. My favorite actress. So cool. #TheVampireDiaries is awesome. Love the show. You're great in it.

The Vampire Diaries Speculation: Who Will Die in Season 4, Episode 16?

Honestly, we don’t know if we can take anyone dying The Vampire Diaries Season 4, Episode 16, “Bring It On.” We’re still raw!

Post Jeremy’s (Steven R. McQueen) death, Elena (Nina Dobrev) is going to have a jolly old time. Her emotions have been turned off, and she’s back to cheerleading. That should be harmless enough, right?
We assume Bonnie (Kat Graham) isn’t going to dive right into her massacre-to-save-Jeremy killings right away, so we assume most everyone in Mystic Falls is safe from the witch — for now.

It’s not clear if Rebekah (Claire Holt) made it off the island, but if we see her back in Virginia, then we doubt we’ll get much closure on Shane (David Alpay). Frankly, we can’t see Bex helping the nutty professor, so he’ll most likely die from some combination of exposure, that leg wound, and the island’s wildlife. That might not count, though.

According to the synopsis, Klaus (Joseph Morgan) finally gets a hold of Hayley (Phoebe Tonkin). Normally, you’d think that spells disaster for anyone who betrayed the OV, but since the werewolf is headed for The Originals spin-off, we’re pretty sure she makes it out of their encounter alive.

Frankly, we think we’re headed for a low body-count episode. The only thing we’re wondering: if Elena will be a wee bit more murder-y now that she’s without that compassion everyone’s always talking about. She seems pretty eager to feed in the promo, and what’s to stop her from draining every last drop?
What do you think? Will some cheerleaders lose their pom poms?

The Vampire Diaries Spoilers: Is This New Witch Shane’s Replacement?

Frankly, Shane (David Alpay) was getting on our last nerve until he looked so broken and defeated in The Vampire Diaries Season 4, Episode 14, “Down the Rabbit Hole.” His wife came to him in a vision — we think — and the professor just seemed so crushed that he’d never truly see her again.
Cut to a sneak peek for Season 4, Episode 15, “Stand by Me,” and Shane is ambulatory and creepily happy once again. Silas has risen, and the PhD still wants to bring back the dead.
No wonder Bonnie (Kat Graham) needs a new mentor. TV Guide reports that Cynthia Addai-Robinson (Spartacus: War of the Damned) has been cast as Aja, and she’s taking over the job.
Unlike Shane, Aja is a skilled witch — a friend of Abby Bennett’s — who wants to help Bonnie get her use of Expression under control.
Great! The less time Bon-Bon spends alone with Shane, the better. And if Aja knows any spells for raising the dead, Jeremy (Steven R. McQueen) could definitely use one!

The Vampire Diaries Speculation: Why Is Hayley in New Orleans?

The Vampire Diaries’ Originals spin-off is shaping up nicely, and we are counting the days until the backdoor pilot of this potential new series airs on April 25! (For the record: it’s 61.)
We only know so much about The Originals episode at this point, but Klaus (Joseph Morgan) is heading to the sultry, supernatural soup that is New Orleans to solve a mystery. It was only a matter of time before we heard that OV siblings Rebekah (Claire Holt) and Elijah (Daniel Gillies) would be joining him.
Then some sexy, witchy ladies were added to the mix, as well as a sweet, human (Elena-esque?) psychology student and the Big Easy’s alpha vamp/Klaus’s protégé Marcel. And then, for some reason, Hayley (Phoebe Tonkin).
Everyone else seems to line up pretty well with the pilot’s premise, but the addition of this werewolf made us think a little harder. Phoebs was one of the first actors attached to the spin-off, but... why is Hayley even there?
For starters, Hayley is one of the few people who always had the cojones to stand up to Klaus. News of a plot forming against him in New Orleans makes Klaus travel to Louisiana, and we wouldn’t put it past her to help organize some sort of Klaus coup.
But would she want to? Well, maybe.
First, there’s Tyler (Michael Trevino). Whether or not Hayley and Tyler ever got it on, the two were always close, so maybe she’s looking to stop Klaus from being on the murder-path for her pal.
Hayley also helped un-sire all of Klaus’ hybrids, which she then straight up told him so he would go kill them and Professor Shane would give her info on her parents. Her plan didn’t work for her, but that won’t stop Klaus from being pissed. Maybe Hayl will seek forgiveness so he’s not out to kill her? We all know how Klaus loves a hunt.
Perhaps it’s a sexy reason? After Hayley helped Tyler break his sire bond in the woods, she showed up in Mystic Falls and caused some serious tension between him and Caroline (Candice Accola). If Hayley and Klaus get friendly in New Orleans, she could very well be there if (when!?) Caroline comes to visit, and throw a wrench in the Klaroline works, just like she did with Forwood. She’s a werewolf; he’s a hybrid; they’re both hot. You do the math.
Or who knows, maybe New Orleans is the latest stop in Hayley’s search for her parents? Or maybe she just has some bricks to count. The suspense is killing us!

‘The Vampire Diaries’ season 4 spoilers: The road to ‘The Originals’

If you love “The Vampire Diaries,” then odds are you have been following the road very closely to the launch of “The Originals,” which is of course the upcoming spin-off series being put on by executive producer Julie Plec. The backdoor pilot has already been cast, and it will even be shot in the weeks ahead. We already knew that the episode was going to air on April 25, so to add to the puzzle, we now know officially just where the installment fits in with the rest of the season.

“The Originals” will be the 20th episode of the season, which serves as verification that the show will air continuous new episodes in between this airing and the show’s upcoming season finale on May 16. This episode’s story will revolve around Klaus’ journey to New Orleans, where he and Elijah examiner a part of their lives that they left behind centuries before. Some new characters include a vampire named Marcel, a college student named Camille, and a pair of witches who have long been suppressed.

So how far do we have to go before we make it to this episode? Considering that the next new episode, entitled “Bring It On,” is the 16th of the season and airs on March 14, the show will need to take another two-week hiatus beginning either in late March or early April for the episode count to line up. There are four episodes to go in order to bring us into the world of this spin-off, and then following that we will have three episodes that will be present to help wrap up the story for Elena, Damon, and Stefan until the fall.
There is no official word on if “The Originals” will be a series yet, and we will likely hear something either after the backdoor pilot is filmed or in May at the CW upfront presentation.

‘The Vampire Diaries’ post-mortem: Julie Plec previews how the big death will change the show

Following the shocking ending of The Vampire Diaries, many fans are left wondering where the show will go from here. See what Julie Plec can tease about it.

The Vampire Diaries exec Julie Plec has spoken to TV Line and EW about taking Elena to the dark side and the decision to kill off Jeremy – whose demise was cemented in Thursday’s episode “Stand By Me” when his body was burned with the Gilbert house.

Why Jeremy had to die?

Plec explains that at this point in the series, they wanted to see Elena go to the darkest possible point, and needed to let go of someone close to her to do it.
“This whole year has been about the evolution of Elena as a vampire,” Plec explains. And as “it’s her protectiveness of her brother that kept her together,” the last vestige of her humanity has now been taken away from her. “Tearing her brother away from her would be the thing that would make her fall apart,” Plec says, and therefore he had to die for the story to progress.

Elena without her humanity: Katherine 2.0?

Now that Elena will presumably be more ruthless, many fans speculate that she will begin to act more like her doppelganger Katherine. But while in a lot of ways these two characters are cut from the same cloth, Plec says that there is one key difference: “[Elena is] Katherine minus all the machinations and the sexual manipulations.” To differentiate the two characters, the writers worked out a very useful rule of thumb, which says that, “Everything that Katherine says is a lie and everything Elena says is true.”
So we can expect her to be brutally honest with the other characters in upcoming weeks, and to give in to her urges – exactly as they are – with no regrets or reservations.
What this means for the sire bond and love triangle
A convenient side-effect of having this new honest Elena is that we might get some answers about how she really feels about Damon. “What is their dynamic going to be moving forward when she’s not driven by a love for him necessarily?” Julie Plec asks. “A lot of questions come up and get answered in the next couple episodes.”

When/how will Elena as we know and love her come back?

“It’s going to be very difficult to bring her back from this place that she finds [herself in],” Plec warns. Not least because, ironically, it’s “actually her new happy place because it is a place with no pain, no guilt, no suffering and no extremes other than just an appreciation for life as a vampire and a desire to feed.”
But while we wait for her to get her humanity back (if she ever does), we can look forward to Damon and Stefan getting closer. “As they struggle to try to figure out what to do with this girl that they don’t recognize any more, they start to realize how much their relationship has been impacted by their shared love for her,” Plec explains. “And having kind of watched her lose her brother and them have that feeling of, ‘Oh my gosh. As much as I fight with my brother that I have, if I lost him, I’d have nothing,’ it has a nice healing effect on these two over the next chapter.”

Plec can also confirm that while there might be more deaths, “I definitely will try not to shatter everyone’s souls as deeply as what they went through last night.”
She also previews the Silas plotline, which will take off in the episode after next. “And Stefan and Caroline — and Klaus, of all people — figure out what’s going on and and try to put a stop to it,” she says. Will this lead into Klaus leaving Mystic Falls for New Orleans?! We’ll have to wait and see.
The Vampire Diaries returns March 14 with “Bring it On.” (Get it, cause Elena’s a cheerleader?) We can’t wait!

THE VAMPIRE DIARIES HARLEM SHAKE (video):

The CW plots a 'Vampire Diaries' spinoff around The Originals, Phoebe Tonkin

The CW is finally looking to develop a spinoff from its biggest hit, "The Vampire Diaries."

The network revealed on Friday (January 11) that the April 25 episode of "The Vampire Diaries" is being eyed as the set-up for a potential spinoff in consideration for next season.

The project, which will be shepherded by "Vampire Diaries" showrunner Julie Plec, will focus on the Original family -- That would be the clan of original vampires for the uninitiated -- bringing Joseph Morgan's Klaus to New Orleans, where he's reunited with a former protege named Marcel.

Also set to star is Phoebe Tonkin, who has joined the "Vampire Diaries" cast this season after starring in "The Secret Circle" on The CW last year.

"The Secret Circle" demonstrated The CW's previous resistance to using "The Vampire Diaries" as a launching pad for new projects. Although "The Secret Circle" also came from L.J. Smith source material and featured "Vampire Diaries" co-creator Kevin Williamson on its production team, the two universes never intersected, even when "The Secret Circle" was struggling and might have benefited from an infusion.
