Vampire Diaries’ Phoebe Tonkin Tweets About Hayley’s Sex Scene!

Here’s the story: We’ve loved Phoebe Tonkin ever since she played with crystals as Faye on The Secret Circle. That’s why — after TSC was cancelled — we were excited to see her cast on another CW show. As Hayley on The Vampire Diaries, she plays a wicked werewolf and we saw a whole lot more of her in Season 4, Episode 16, “Bring It On.”

After Hayley dissed Klaus’s (Joseph Morgan) paintings and he plied her wine, the two former enemies decided to mix business with pleasure. During the sexy scene, Twitter was lighting up. Many fans were simply jealous the Australian actress had Joseph Morgan — and his tattoos! — in such close proximity, but others were upset that the hybrid-werewolf hookup even happened.

Now, the TVD fandom is a passionate bunch, particularly about their ‘ships. Caroline (Candice Accola) and Klaus have a very vocal following — they were likely cheering on Elena (Nina Dobrev) last night when she told her blond friend, “You won’t have to feel guilty about all the dirty thoughts you have about Klaus.” Some of these viewers expressed their dissatisfaction to the actress on Twitter.

OK, we were also a little jealous that Phoebes looks so fantastic in that scene. Because both Ms. Tonkin and Joseph Morgan have been cast in The Vampire Diaries spin-off, The Originals, there’s always a chance of another steamy scene.
Who knows? Some Klaroline fans may even be converted to Team Kayley?

How Were the Ratings For The Vampire Diaries Season 4, Episode 16?



In The Vampire Diaries Season 4, Episode 16, “Bring It On,” Elena (Nina Dobrev) certainly had a lot of spirit. But how many people tuned in to watch the newly emotion-free vamp bite cheerleaders, strip down (numerous times), and fight with her bestie?

According to The Futon Critic, TVD had 2.49 million viewers last night. That’s down about 15 percent from the 2.89 million viewers who watched Nina Dobrev weep her heart out in Season 4, Episode 15, “Stand by Me.” That was the last new episode that aired before the show’s two-week hiatus.

The Futon Critic also points out that The Vampire Diaries is down about eight percent in viewership compared to this time last year. However, the show has already been picked up for a fifth season, so the slightly lower numbers shouldn’t alarm anybody.

In a recent press release, The CW said TVD is one of their highest-rated shows amongst the key demographic of 18 – 34-year-olds, though Arrow has been getting more viewers overall.

The moral of the story? Make sure you and everyone you know tunes in for TVD next week, when Elena and Damon (Ian Somerhalder) head for New York City for a chaste and blood-free adventure. Just kidding. It’s pretty much the opposite of that.

The Vampire Diaries Songs: Music From Season 4, Episode 16

After the sob-fest that was the last episode of The Vampire Diaries, Season 4, Episode 16, “Bring It On” certainly had more levity — and more skin. Not only did Elena (Nina Dobrev) bare it all, we finally saw more of Klaus (Joseph Morgan). 'The Vampire Diaries' Recap: Top 10 Moments from 'Bring it On'

After a few weeks off, tonight's episode of The Vampire Diaries returned with a very sassy Elena, a juicy new romance for Klaus, and a surprise keg party at Casa Salvatore. "Bring It On" definitely, well, brought it on (and then some). Check out our Top 10 moments from the episode: 

1. A brand new Elena

Humanity-free Elena is a HANDFUL. Within the first 10 minutes of the episode she was snacking on unsuspecting drivers and strutting around naked in front of the Salvatore boys (and Caroline). After four seasons of watching her be the resident Mystic Falls good girl, it was surprisingly satisfying to watch Elena be very, very bad. Maybe she really is more like Katherine than we ever imagined.

2. The cheerleading competition from hell

The new badass Elena continued her reign of terror at the Mystic Falls High cheerleading competition, where she feasted on a poor cheerleader (and stole her ribbon!) and mouthed off to Stefan when he asked about the blood that's missing from the local hospital. Then she tossed Caroline into the air and casually dropped her during the team's cheerleading routine. Way harsh, Elena.

3. The sire bond in question

Before sending her off to school, Damon used the sire bond to tell Elena to be on her best behavior (i.e. don't eat any cheerleaders). Obviously it didn't work, which throws the whole sire bond thing back into question. If Elena's not sired to Damon when her humanity's off, what happens when she turns it back on?

4. "So this is your thing? Show a girl a few mediocre paintings?"

Hayley trashing Klaus' paintings was, perhaps, my favorite thing that has ever happened on this show. What's not to love about a cheeky werewolf girl who actually calls Klaus out on his bullsh*t? Things got even more interesting when the pair tapped into their animalistic sides for some scorching hot table sex. If this is what the Vampire Diaries spinoff, The Originals, has in store for us, consider me fully on board. 

5. The search for Katherine

Damon and Rebecca kept up the hunt for Katherine, who has the cure and who sent a vampire to tie up loose ends, a.k.a. kill Hayley. They didn't find her (after centuries of running from Klaus, Katherine's an expert at hiding out), but the former lovers had a rare bit of bonding. "Life sucks when you're ordinary," Damon told Rebecca, who has only ever wanted to be a perfectly ordinary girl. It was a surprisingly poignant moment for the often at-odds pair.

6. "He's actually busy flirting with your daughter."

Klaus and Caroline fans may have had a not-so-great night, but Stefan and Caroline shippers made out like bandits. The friends (and oh please, something more eventually!) were perfectly in sync all episode, and even got to enjoy a fun, flirty bit of dancing when Elena threw her surprise keg party. At the end of the episode they promised to stick together and do everything they could to help get the real Elena back, but at this point these two don't need Elena to keep them close.

7. Elena vs. Caroline

I never thought I'd see the day when Elena and Caroline would get into a knock-down, drag-out fight, but that's exactly what happened after Elena got a little violent with Mama Forbes. "You don't have to feel guilty about feeling all those dirty thoughts about Klaus," Elena sneered during their battle, prompting Caroline to scream, "SHUT UP!" It was genuinely shocking, and a sign of just how far gone humanity-free Elena is, when the brunette got thisclose to staking her BFF before Stefan and Damon stepped in. 

8. A home for Matt

Matt! The poor lone remaining human in the group actually got a spot of truly good new tonight. Tyler sent him a letter from the road that gave the teen the deed to the Lockwood Estates. So basically, Matt went from being a nearly homeless orphan to owning the nicest house in town. Not too shabby. 

9. It's Silas, ya'll

When Sheriff Forbes informed Stefan that six local hospitals have been cleaned out of their blood supplies, he finally put two and two together and realized that Silas is probably in town and stocking up on blood. What's the over/under on how many episodes it'll take before everyone realizes that Professor Shane isn't what he seems (again)?

10. "Be honest. You like me better like this."

It's always been an open secret that Damon likes Elena better when she's, well, a little bit bad. A little more like him. It absolves him of some of the intense guilt and feelings of inadequacy he feels around her, and at the end of tonight's episode Elena actually called him out on that. "Should I go back to the scared little girl who couldn't admit what she wants?" she asked Damon, before hitting the emotional nail on the head with the line, "Be honest. You like me better like this." Of course he does — so much so that he packed his new little bad girl into the car for an impromptu road trip to New York City.

Ian Somerhalder Says Being in Fifty Shades of Grey Is a Wise Choice

The Huffington Post had a live chat with Ian Somerhalder (Damon Salvatore), and the question on everyone’s mind was, will he star in the movie adaptation of Fifty Shades of Grey? 

Ever the diplomat, The Vampire Diaries star wouldn’t say if he’s being courted to play Christian Grey, but he didn’t get off the hook that easily. He admitted that the book is “dynamic,” and reading it had “been one heck of a little journey.” 

When asked if he would consider taking the role, Ian said, “I think that anyone in their right mind would play that role. … I think it would be a very wise choice.”

Yet he’s not overly optimistic about his chances, pointing out that almost every male actor in Hollywood is up for the part. He seems to forget that every male actor in Hollywood doesn’t have his piercing blue eyes!

There were a few other bold questions from fans. One asked if Ian gets embarrassed filming scenes in front of his mother-in-law. Um, as far as we know, Ian isn’t married, but she was clearly referencing Ian’s girlfriend and on-screen love interest Nina Dobrev (Elena Gilbert). 

Another fan wanted to know if Damon and Elena’s romance affects his relationship with Nina in real life. Ian expanded the question to include all of his co-stars. “We’re all an extremely close family,” he said. “We have a pretty incredible fluidity to our relationships.” 

Like with any family, though, Ian admitted, “we all want to kill each other sometimes.”

Paul Wesley on 'The Vampire Diaries' set: Could Stefan and Elena ever get back together?

When we found Paul Wesley on "The Vampire Diaries" set a few weeks ago, he was playing around with one of Stefan's lines in a diner scene with Katherine, Rebekah, and Damon. "I think it can have a little more pizazz," he told the episode's writer. "He could be a little more sarcastic or something."

Season 4 Stefan may not be as mean as he was back in his ripper days, but he's definitely developed a sharper tongue -- and we like it. That's due, in part, to Wesley looking for opportunities to inject a little more wit into Stefan's lines. 

"I was demanding attitudinal behavior!" Paul jokes. "Season 4 has been a difficult transition for me, because Season 3 was my favorite season because of the things I was able to do as an actor. I had my fun, and now they're putting Stefan -- it's almost like, you play a game in basketball, and then the coach puts you on the sidelines for a minute, and you're like 'Put me out there, coach!'"

Currently, Stefan's love life is beyond complicated. His ex-girlfriend, who he's still in love with (at least, when she's not devoid of humanity) just moved into his house... with his brother. He's hooking up with Rebekah, his psycho-obsessive ex Katherine is back in the picture, and his BFF Caroline may find herself without a love interest pretty soon.

Lately, it's looking good for Stefan and Rebekah. "Rebekah! That's my main squeeze," laughs Paul. "I like Rebekah. Maybe it's just because I like Claire, but I like the character of Rebekah because she's multi-dimensional. She's got the villainous thing, and she's also super insecure and flawed and wants to be liked and accepted. I like that."

Let's just say that Paul is down for whatever romantic entanglements the writers want to throw Stefan's way... as long as Stefan stops pining for Elena. "Look, I think anybody can have anybody on 'Vampire Diaries.' Maybe even me and another dude," he says. It's true -- earlier that day, he'd been extolling the virtues of a potential Elijah/Stefan romance. "Whatever we can do to make him not mopey and running after Elena is great in my book. A little Rebekah, a little Caroline..."

Right now, Stefan is getting over Elena -- at least for now -- mostly because he doesn't find her new humanity-free incarnation particularly attractive. "I don't know about forever, but I do think her actions are going to dictate that," Paul says.

He does believe that they'll find their way back to each other eventually... but only if Stefan can manage to extract himself from the tangled web of Elena's life. "I think there's opportunity for a very powerful moment between them when they come together and something happens, something dynamic, because we haven't seen it in so long. The key to Stefan and Elena as far as I'm concerned is time and distance," he says. "The more you keep them away from one another, the less Stefan is trying to help Elena, trying to fix Elena, trying to run after her and pick up everything she drops -- the more she just screws up on her own, he screws up on his own, they have all these experiences, and then something maybe happens. That's the only way that Stefan and Elena can be together."

Would Ian Somerhalder Take Nina Dobrev to a Deserted Island?

If you’ve ever daydreamed about getting stranded on a deserted island with The Vampire Diaries’ Ian Somerhalder (Damon Salvatore), you’re probably not alone. But one fan wanted to find out who Ian would like to be marooned with. 

When Ian appeared on Bravo’s Watch What Happens Live, an audience member asked him which two people he’d like to be stuck on a Lost-esque island with. 

“After seeing how funny this guy is,” Ian said, pointing to host Andy Cohen, “I would actually contemplate taking him.” Then Ian thought he’d want to be stuck with someone who could help get him off the island before reconsidering. 

“I would stay on the island, and I would take a certain individual whom I could probably live my life with, probably procreate with,” Ian decided. Little baby Somerhalders!

When Andy tried to clarify, “Your lady?” Ian responded with a shrug and a “You know.” 

Earlier in the episode, Andy asked if Ian is single, and he replied, “I wouldn’t say that.” 

So perhaps Ian would take girlfriend and Vampire Diaries co-star Nina Dobrev (Elena Gilbert) to the island? 

Ian also played one of WWHL’s infamous games. This time it was “The Bone Star State.” He and fellow guest Nev Schulman of Catfish had to choose which Texas celebs they’d like to, ahem, bone. Ian said yes to pretty much everyone — except Kelly Clarkson! 

You better not let Candice Accola (Caroline Forbes) hear that! She adores Kelly!

The Vampire Diaries Spoilers: Will We See More of Stefan and Rebekah?

The Vampire Diaries is fond of unconventional pairings — if you’d told us back in Season 1 that Caroline (Candice Accola) and Tyler (Michael Trevino) would be a thing, well, we’d have laughed in your face. But Stefan (Paul Wesley) and Rebekah (Claire Holt) rekindling their century-old romance was definitely a sight to behold.
Alas, executive producer Julie Plec tells Entertainment Weekly that things will cool down between the two vampires for now. “Well, as much as I know people love Stefan and Rebekah — and by all means so do we — her [recent] actions put a little bit of a hold on any future romantic dalliances between them,” says Julie.
Sigh. We suppose it’s not too surprising, what with Bex soon of to join her brothers Klaus (Joseph Morgan) and Elijah (Daniel Gillies) in New Orleans. If the spin-off The Originals gets picked up by The CW, the vampire siblings will permanently move out of Mystic Falls, though there may occasionally be crossovers between the two shows. 
Still, Stefan did forgive Rebekah for the whole “you killed Elena” thing. It’s not like she’s done anything quite that bad since the pre-cure-mission hookup. Sure, she broke Stefan’s neck, but that was only temporary.
Maybe they’ll get in a little goodbye sex before she heads off for Louisiana?

When Will The Vampire Diaries Season 4 Come Out on DVD?



Season 4 of The Vampire Diaries isn’t even over yet, and we’re already dreaming of the day we can get our own set of DVDs. Think about all those times we can rewind those hot hookups between Stefan (Paul Wesley) and Rebekah (Claire Holt) and Damon (Ian Somerhalder) and Elena (Nina Dobrev)!

Unfortunately that date is pretty far away. According to the Warner Bros. shop — where you can pre-order the DVDs or Blu-Rays now — the release is months away. The show’s fourth season box set will come out on August 27, 2013. Right now, the price is $41.99, which is definitely a steal, so taking advantage of the pre-order sounds like a great idea.

We know. We’ll have to endure an entire summer without new episodes or a way to rewatch Bonnie (Kat Graham) devolve into spirit tea-induced madness. Sure, we can use our DVRs, but it’s not as much fun to marathon when you have to fast forward through the commercials!

We’re excited to discover what will be included as special features on the DVDs. Season 3’s set had Stefan’s (Paul Wesley) descent into madness and the Originals’ timeline.

In Season 4, we watched Elena become a vampire, discover she was sire bonded to Damon, and lose her brother, Jeremy (Steven R. McQueen). Who wouldn’t want to memorialize such a monumental season in their DVD collection?

So what can you do until the DVDs are available? We have some suggestions:

Try to perfect that Damon eye thing.

The Vampire Diaries Spoilers: What Was Damon’s Relationship With Lexi?

Flashbacks on The Vampire Diaries tend to reveal new insights about characters we thought we know. Whether it’s Katherine’s (Nina Dobrev) true feelings for Stefan (Paul Wesley) or Rebekah’s (Claire Holt) yearning for love, looking back at the vampires the way they once were is always illuminating.

Warning! The Vampire Diaries spoilers below!

In Season 4, Episode 17, “Because the Night,” the show looks back atDamon’s (Ian Somerhalder) life in New York City during the 1970s. As seen in promo photos, he had a surprising companion: Lexi, Stefan’s deceased best friend.

In an interview with Entertainment Tonight, Ian explained how those two ended up together. “What's cool about it is that you see how long and turbulent their history is,” he says. “There are just so many different agendas and egos at play, but at the end of the day, both Lexi and Damon love Stefan, so to see them interacting throughout an episode where they're not trying to kill each other or making derogatory jokes to one another the entire time is amazing. There was a real relationship there, so it was fun to explore.”



While that love for Stefan was enough to make them at the very least civil for a time being, it wasn’t enough to keep Damon from killing Lexi in Season 1. Ian says, “I think if you go back to that episode after seeing next week's, the look of betrayal on her face, the shock of it all, is recontextualized. Which I think is a great way to elaborate or, at times, strengthen or fix a storyline that maybe didn't work as well. It's an added bonus to the structure of how our show works.”

This makes retroactively mad at Season 1 Damon all over again!

Vampire Diaries Offers Stretching And More Of Elena’s New Attitude

“Come on, you’re better than this.” Did you ever imagine Stefan Salvatore would be saying those words to Elena? You can hear the exchange with your own ears in today’s fresh new Vampire Diaries clip. He even helps her stretch. That sounds yummy, but it isn’t. He doesn’t really have a choice in the matter. This is just more of Elena’s new attitude shining through.

Why is her ex questioning her? It seems some of the hospital’s blood supply is missing. Dun dun dun. Elena even asks if she really needs to be fearful of becoming like Stefan’s old self. He says yes. What do you think? You can thank the CW for this teaser. It’s still season 4 and episodes will run until May. The next episode, titled “Bring It On” is coming March 14th. In Stefan’s defense, Elena might just deserve a stern talking to. He’s not the only one who is concerned about her behavior. In fact, both Stefan and Damon find common ground when they agree she should dive back into her normal routine. The monotony of high school might cool her down. We can expect in this coming episode that with that in mind, Elena will rejoin cheer leading. Caroline will really like that, but what happens when the return turns dangerous? Tell me that doesn’t pique your interest! The search for the cure won’t take a siesta. Damon and Rebekah will work together? That could prove problematic, eh? Also, Klaus will make a discovery about Hayley. And let me tell you, Elena will get totally out of hand. Yikes. As we revealed earlier, “Because the Night” is the episode after this one, coming March 21st. It involves some flashbacks into Damon’s dark past. When it comes to ratings, CW’s supernatural drama has enjoyed highs with adults aged 18-49. Don’t forget that the episode which introduces “The Originals” debuts on April 25.
